Portland, Maine: The team at Vacationland Distributors, LLC. proudly announce the U.S. launch of Farnham Ale & Lager, a craft beer made just across the border in North Farnham, Quebec. The Portland launch party will be at The Thirsty Pig on Friday, July 10th, and at Blaze in Bangor on or about Thursday, July 23rd.
“Farnham Ale & Lager is making the best, most approachable beer in Quebec,” says Jim O’Brien, Co-Founder and President of Vacationland Distributors, LLC. “Farnham is about making quality craft beer that can be appreciated by connoisseurs – as well as by people who have never had a craft beer in their lives. Farnham makes great beer with the highest-quality ingredients, and that’s an approach we know Mainers will appreciate.”
“Farnham Ale & Lager has become the leading craft brewery in the Montreal area, and we’re thrilled to begin sending beer into the United States,” says Alexandre Jacobs, President of Farnham Ale & Lager. “Maine will be the first state in the U.S. Farnham will be available in, and with Maine’s international reputation for having some of the best beer on the planet, we’re proud to start here.”
Jacobs continues: “We decided to come to Maine for two reasons: we knew our craft-made brews would be appreciated by Maine’s beer-savvy population, and because Vacationland Distributors offers a truly game-changing alternative to traditional brewery/distributor relationships. We would not have come to Maine if Vacationland Distributors wasn’t here, and we have already formed a great partnership with their team.”
Farnham Ale & Lager names its beers after their IBUs, and will be launching with the following products:
“12” – An unfiltered wheat beer – naturally cloudy, fruity flavor with light banana esters at the finish.
Hops: Magnum, Hallertauer / ABV: 5.2% / IBU: 12
“27” – Light caramel taste, mild mid-palette bitterness, and a balanced hop finish make this a refreshing and thirst-quenching alternative to macrobrewed lagers.
Hops: Hallertauer, Tettnanger / ABV: 5.2% / IBU: 27
“42” – This summer seasonal pale is unfiltered and naturally cloudy with an amber hue. Malty mid-palette, but leaves the hops in the spotlight to showcase notes of tropical fruit and citrus. The perfect summer crusher.
Hops: Centennial, Galaxy, Merkur / ABV: 4.5% / IBU: 42
“128” – This American-inspired DIPA uses the “3 Cs” (Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook) to provide bitterness that doesn’t overpower the malt bill. 128 IBUs, yet clean enough to taste citrus and fruit notes.
Hops: Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook / ABV: 7% / IBU: 128
