Director of Operations – Production II


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead the development and operation of our new brewing facility, “Production II.” This role will encompass every aspect of building, equipping, and operating a cutting-edge production facility. The Director of Operations will be instrumental in bringing our expansion vision to life while ensuring it aligns with our core values and strategic goals.

This is a multi-phase position, beginning with facility development and evolving into full operational oversight, including staff management and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

Phase I: Facility Development

Oversee the creation of the “Production II” brewing facility, including:

· Identifying and acquiring suitable real estate.

· Coordinating with consultants such as architects and MEP engineers.

· Managing equipment selection, layout, and procurement (beyond existing assets).

· Leading contractor selection through competitive bidding for general contractors or subcontractors.

· Developing and managing budgets for construction and commissioning.

· Supervising the installation of equipment and process piping.

· Overseeing equipment commissioning to ensure readiness for operations.


Phase II: Facility Operations

· Recruit and hire brewing staff to build a high-performing production team.

· Manage production scheduling, orders, and raw material procurement.

· Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient, high-quality production from grain to package.

· Lead efforts to optimize facility output and meet volume goals (e.g., ~60,000+ bbl annually).

· Evaluate opportunities for contract brewing and co-packing to maximize facility utilization.


Qualifications

· Proven experience in brewing operations, preferably in a large-scale production environment.

· Strong project management skills with experience in facility construction and equipment commissioning.

· Knowledge of brewing equipment, process piping, and layout design.

· Leadership experience in recruiting, training, and managing teams.

· Budget management expertise, including capital expenditure projects.

· Familiarity with contract brewing and co-packing operations is a plus.

· Ability to develop and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, and vendors.

About the Facility
