KC Bier Co. Hires Katie Camlin as Digital and Social Media Coordinator
Katie Camlin, who was the first person to tweet about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ contract extension, has been hired as digital and social media coordinator for KC Bier Co. in Kansas City, Missouri.
Camlin, who had worked at Plaza Liquor in Kansas City, Missouri, announced her career move in a tweet on July 26.
“Plaza Liquor brought me an amazing job during a time of crisis last year, some of the fondest memories of my life, and so much learning. I love them, and it will be hard stepping away from my beer section!” she wrote. “I’m so, SO excited to work for an esteemed local brewery and to further my career in beer! Prost!”
Camlin gained a level of national fame for her 2020 tweet, which she posted about 90 minutes before ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter announced Mahomes had agreed to a decade-long extension that could be worth as much as $503 million — the biggest deal in Chiefs’ history.
“A front office employee for the Chiefs came in and bought 6 bottles of Dom Perignon. Said there’s a big signing today. He said it’s not Chris Jones, so my guess is a Mahomes deal,” Camlin wrote in the now-deleted tweet.
KC Bier Co. is dedicated to German-style beers.
