Paulaner USA to Launch Fürstenberg Beer on Draft in March

Littleton, CO — Paulaner USA, the U.S. importer of the legendary Paulaner Brewery portfolio adds Fürstenberg Beer to its premium line of brands in the U.S. The launch capitalizes on recent marketing research indicating that craft beer consumers are searching for more sessionable products that provide a refreshing, yet full flavor beer. Touted as the next step in the German craft beer experience; Fürstenberg is a classic German Pilsener direct from the black forest. For the ultimate authentic tasting experience, Fürstenberg will only be served as a draft beer, with plans to roll out nationally on March 1.

The need for a product with Fürstenberg’s profile was dramatized at this past January’s Beer Business Daily Summit where Nielsen CGA and CM Profit Group presented the results of a recently completed survey of craft beer drinkers. The survey reported that 45% of craft beer drinkers are looking for “sessionable beers” that were less than 5% alcohol by volume (ABV). Fürstenberg is a classic German Pilsener beer, featuring distinctive hop notes and a smooth bitter finish and at 4.7% (ABV) Fürstenberg fits this emerging consumer demand perfectly.

Fürstenberg is brewed in the finest German tradition, following the Reinheitsgebot, and using only brewing malt from the region, Hallertau and Tettnang hops, and specifically developed yeast. With its superior taste, top quality ingredients, and award-winning Pils style, Fürstenberg is sure to quench the thirst of beer-lovers across the U.S.

“We are excited to launch this traditional German beer in the USA,” says CEO Steve Hauser. “We have been hearing from customers and consumers for a while now that a premium quality, authentic German Pilsener beer experience has been missing from the USA market. The Nielsen presentation at the Beer Business Summit confirmed our anecdotal research and gave us tremendous confidence that we had the right brand, at the right time.”

“We are only introducing Furstenberg in draft to ensure the highest quality and freshness of the beer. By serving Fürstenberg exclusively on tap, we are delivering the experience of the traditional German Pilsner in its time honored style and can ensure the beer is treated right. We are proud of this product and want to make sure you get all of that rich tradition and quality in a perfect pint for you. After all, there isn’t anything better than a crisp, refreshing beer poured beer with a white, foamy head.”

Fürstenberg is the winner of 4 prestigious quality awards from the rigorous quality examinations in a single year.

Paulaner Brewery is one of the oldest and most revered breweries in the world, with a legacy dating back 730 years. Fürstenberg will be added to the Pilsner Premium line, which has won numerous gold awards for its superior taste and quality. The diversity in the brand ensures there is a beer for everyone, while keeping up with their traditional high standards of brewing and beer culture.

About Fürstenberg

Fürstenberg is brewed in depths of the Black Forest at the Bräustüble in Donaueschingen. Fürstenberg has always made a point or producing the highest quality premium beers while ensuring each beer has full bodied authentic flavor. With their centuries of experience passed through generations they have created a unique culture and experience around the beer, becoming the beer of the Black Forest. The Braumeisters at Fürstenberg believe it is the ingredients and the experience that make a beer a good one. They use the best spring water from their own well, local and freshly grown ingredients, but the most important factor which makes this historic Black Forest beer stand out from the rest is the passion that goes into creating it. The detail and time that is put into brewing are the opposite of the principles of mass production, yet this superior product is kept at a fair price.
