AUSTIN, Texas — Independence Brewing Co, one of Texas’ original craft breweries, today kicks off its “Summer for Service Dogs” campaign with the release of Cucumber Redbud – a Berliner Weisse for a great cause.
Beginning today, Independence Brewing Co. will donate a portion of the net proceeds generated from every Redbud and Cucumber Redbud sold through Labor Day to Service Dogs, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of persons living with disabilities through the training and provision of hearing and service dogs. The company aims to raise up to $45,000 – the total cost for Service Dogs Inc. to prepare a dog to serve a person with a disability – with the campaign.
“Independence Brewing truly believes in Service Dogs, Inc.’s mission and we’re proud to give Texans a refreshing way to support an important cause this summer,” said Amy Cartwright, president and co-founder of Independence Brewing Co.
“A service dog can be the key to independence for someone living with a disability. When we help someone achieve that independence, we’re living up to our name,” Cartwright said.
Named after Austin’s popular off-leash dog park Redbud Isle, Independence’s Redbud Berliner Weisse is refreshingly tart and effervescent. Combined with a subtle wheat maltiness and super crisp finish, both Redbud beers are perfect to enjoy on a hot Texas summer day with man’s best friend.
Both Redbud and Cucumber Redbud can be found in cans and on draft throughout Texas. For more information about Independence’s “Summer for Service Dogs” visit IndependenceBrewing.com/ServiceDogs.
