BOSTON – Starting this week, Clown Shoes will be distributed alongside Harpoon and UFO brands throughout Massachusetts. The move follows the acquisition of Clown Shoes by Mass. Bay Brewing Company in the Fall of 2017. Previously, Clown Shoes was distributed state-wide by Horizon Beverage.
The brand will now be distributed by a collection of wholesalers across the state: Harpoon Distributing Company in and around Boston, Horizon Beverage in the South Shore, Cape and Islands, Atlas Distributing in Central Mass., Merrimack Valley Distributing Company on the North Shore, and Williams Distributing and Girardi Distributors in Western Mass.
According to Dan Kenary, CEO of Mass Bay Brewing Company, “We’re grateful that all of our partners were willing to spend the time and effort to make this happen. We’re committed to making sure our brands are available for consumers throughout our home state, and we feel like this transition will help us supportClown Shoes in the best way possible. In the end, everyone won – as New England sports fans, we know that doesn’t always happen, so we’re happy with the outcome.”
Gregg Berman, founder of Clown Shoes, echoed Kenary’s sentiments. “We were excited to join the MBBC family, and we’re more excited to join their existing distribution family. Clown Shoes already has a great year planned, and this move is one more step down the path we laid out in the fall.”
The changeover should take place this week across the state, and no lapse in service is expected.
