Tampa, FL – Coppertail Brewing Co., one of Florida’s finest craft breweries, is helping to beautify the city of Miami and raise funds for a Miami Elementary school by sponsoring two art installations.
Evan B. Harris of Portland, OR, the artist who has created the distinctive artwork for the Coppertail brand, will paint a mural near Boxelder, a craft beer bar and bottle shop at 2825 NW 2nd Ave in Miami. The mural located at 286 NW 29th St, is part of the Smashed Canvas Event, one of the largest independently produced mural installations of Art Basel 2016.
Evan will also be creating a mural at the Eneida M. Hartner Elementary School in Wynwood for the RAW Project, (Re-imagining the Arts in Wynwood). The project was created to raise money for schools as well as to give motivation to students by encouraging them to pursue careers in creative media, music and the arts. This is the second school the RAW project has chosen to benefit from the gift of art.
When you speak to Evan, the passion behind his work is clear. “I believe art can change the world by connecting people. It builds bridges of language that can transcend all other modes of communication. It speaks to the soul.”
Coppertail Brewing Co. is pleased to sponsor his efforts in these two installations which will be completed the week of November 28 through December 4. Coppertail’s Director of Sales, Will Isaacson, said, “Wynwood is the heart of the art movement in Miami and it also has a thriving craft beer scene. We thought it made sense to bring Evan’s work, which is so closely associated with our brand, to places where people can enjoy it and be inspired by it. We are pleased to give back to the community that has made us feel so welcome.”
Lovers of Evan’s art will be able to purchase it at a show on Thursday December 1st at 7PM as Coppertail takes over the Taps at Boxelder. Prints of Evan’s work will be available for purchase through Friday. Brewmaster, Casey Hughes, will also be present during the tap takeover. Imagination Creation Coalition, Evan’s social practice project, will be auctioning off a piece of art from his Miami show to benefit The RAW Project. More info about the auction can be found on their facebook page at www.facebook.com/imaginationcreationcoaltion.
