The Brewers Association (BA) has announced the results of its board of directors election, which filled five seats on the trade group’s board.
Joining the board to represent packaging brewers are Tomme Arthur, co-founder of The Lost Abbey and Port Brewing in San Marcos, California; and Garrett Marrero, CEO and co-founder of Kihei, Hawaii-based Maui Brewing. Packaging brewers sell more than 75% of their volume off their premises.
Holly Redding, managing member of Winchester, Virginia-based Winchester Brew Works was elected to represent taproom brewers, which the BA defines as brewers who sell more than 25% of their beer onsite but do not offer food service.
Leah Cheston, owner of Washington, D.C.-headquartered Right Proper Brewing, and Jason Lavery, president and founding brewer of Erie, Pennsylvania-based Lavery Brewing, will represent pub brewers. Pub brewers offer food service and sell more than 25% of their volume onsite.
Arthur, Marrero, Redding and Cheston will begin their three-year terms in February 2022. Lavery was elected to fill an empty seat and will serve for one year.
The new term will be Marrero’s third and Cheston’s second. Arthur, Redding and Lavery are new to the board. According to BA bylaws, board members are limited to three consecutive terms, after which they must resign for one year before being considered again.
At-large board members, which are selected by elected board members and serve two-year terms, will be discussed during the board’s meeting on December 2.
