MADISON, WI — Regional craft brewery Ale Asylum has released two seasonal brands in cans: Dr. Vennum (IPA) and 12 oz. Curl (Pilsner). Both brands will be packaged in 12 oz. can 6-packs and will be available throughout Wisconsin and Illinois through the end of the summer.
The brewery began their canning program in May of 2014, releasing four year-round offerings in 12 oz. can 12-packs, then adding the same brands in 12 oz. can 6-packs in the fall of 2016.
“Although we still have a solid group of customers that prefer bottles, our can sales are growing exponentially”, quotes Ale Asylum Co-Founder Otto Dilba. “Not only did it make sense to increase our can portfolio, but to mix in seasonal releases as well.”
The first seasonal beer to travel down the canning line is a brand new release, an American IPA called Dr. Vennum. Next came 12 oz. Curl, a Pilsner the brewery released in bottles in March of this year and re-released in cans due to an overwhelming demand.
Next on deck for Ale Asylum cans include year-round offerings Velveteen Habit (IPA), Ambergeddon (West Coast Style Amber) and Madtown Nutbrown (Brown Ale). In August, the brewery will can Common Thread, a Baltic Porter they brewed in collaboration with statewide breweries to benefit the Wisconsin Brewers Guild.
