YAKIMA, WASHINGTON – Hopsteiner, one of the largest hop growing, trading, breeding and processing firms in the world since 1845, will be returning to the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) next week in Washington D.C., where they will debut a tasting lounge at their booth (#2809).
The new beer tasting lounge, hosted jointly by Hopsteiner and Cargill, will feature four unique beers that highlight some of Hopsteiner’s most flavorful and aromatic hop varieties. Selections available for tasting will be: Ithaca Beer Company of Ithaca, NY – India Pale Ale (ABV 6.6%) brewed with Hopsteiner DenaliÔ and X06297; Boom Island Brewing Company of Minneapolis, MN – Belgian Double Pale (ABV 7.2 %) brewed with Hopsteiner BravoÔ and X09326; Urban Chestnut Brewing Company of St. Louis, MO – Session Pils (ABV 4.0%) brewed with Hopsteiner Lemondrop, Hallertau Blanc, and Denali; and Washington DC’s own BlueJacket – India Pale Ale brewed with Hopsteiner Lemondrop, Denali and X07270.
“The hops we selected to use in these beers are to highlight some of Hopsteiner’s new, and experimental hop varieties that give brewers exciting new flavors and aromas to brew their beers with and help stand out in an extremely crowded marketplace,” said Bill Elkins, Sales for Hopsteiner. “Our new beer tasting lounge will give brewers the opportunity to evaluate the hops and malts used in these beers, and to experience the difference these fine ingredients would make on their next brew.”
Hopsteiner hops and brewing experts will be available to speak with at CBC booth #2809 from Tuesday, April 11 through Thursday, April 13. Brewers who visit the booth can also enter for a chance to win free hops by filling out a quick beer tasting survey, or dropping their business card in our hops raffle pail.
With over 80 different kinds of hops (and counting), Hopsteiner continues to add more varieties to their roster with each passing year. For more information about all the available hop varieties, please visit hopsteiner.com/variety-data-sheets.
