Sloop Brewing Co. Opens Tasting Room and Brewery

EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. – At 3 pm Saturday,September 15, Sloop Brewing Co. will throw open the doors to the Factory– their new kitchen, tasting room, and brewery located at 755 East Dr. in theEast Fishkill iPark campus, formerly an IBM plant.

Having run their brewery and tasting room out of Columbia County for the last three years, Sloop is excited to return their main operations to Dutchess County and serve the lower Hudson Valley and greater New York metro area while continuing to run the Barn, their Elizaville facility. Founded in2011 and having grown from farmer’s market to farmer’s market to their first production facility in Elizaville, Sloop is looking forward to their new 25,000square foot location.

“We’re really excited to get this place open,” said Adam Watson,co-founder and president. “The location puts us close to the city and is easily accessible to all of the Hudson Valley, just a minute off exit fifteen on I-84.And bringing this IBM plant back to life is a great project to be a part of.”

Initially opening from 4-9 pm Thursday, 4-10 pm Friday, 12-10 pmSaturday, and 12-9 pm Sunday, the Factory will shortly ramp up to a full schedule. In addition to Sloop beer, a full menu will be available.

“We’re trying to do a few things,” said Adam Slamon, executive chef. “A take on street food from around the world complementing our beer at the brewery, pizza that feels right at home in New York, and burgers that we’ve put together just for Sloop. We’re sourcing many of our ingredients locally, and trying to stay as environmentally conscious as possible with our packaging and presentation.”

At almost ten times the size of the Elizaville facility, the new complex also allows Sloop to greatly increase the amount of beer they can brew.

“The new brewery will allow us to increase production and stillfocus on our beer with the same love and care as always,” said Justin Taylor, Sloop’s co-founder and head brewer. “With our new tanks we’ll brew enough beerto be throughout the Northeast – but we’ll keep making small batches, honing our craft, and trying new things like we’ve always been proud to do.”

At 12 pm, in advance of the grand opening, Sloop will have a can release of IPArk — a small batch, hazy IPA brewed just for the occasion. The kitchen will open at 3pm for the grand opening.
