Rouleur Brewing Company’s Grand Opening Set for April 8

Rouleur Brewing Company Rolls Past the Competition on April 8

San Diego, CA – It’s time to taste the fruits of Rawley Macias’ labor at Rouleur Brewing Company. The new, cycling-themed Carlsbad brewery, located at 5840 El Camino Real, Suite 101, will host its grand opening Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 12pm to 10pm. Macias will roll out his six signature brews: The Domestique Blonde Ale, The Sprinteur Red Ale, The Puncheur Pale Ale, The Grimpeur Dark Ale, The Clydesdale India Pale Ale and The Soloist Golden Strong Ale, and there will be food trucks and entertainment.

“Carlsbad is the next spot for beer in San Diego county,” said head rouleur and brewer Macias. “Rouleur Brewing Company is here to be a neighborhood brewery — an after-work gathering spot, a stop for cyclists looking to unwind after a long ride or friends searching for a cold brew on a Saturday.”

Rouleur, French for roller, blends monastic, Old World tradition and the modern craft of brewing. Thriving on invention and experimentation, Rouleur brews aren’t stylistically pigeon-holed; they break from traditional brewing guidelines, resulting in an out of this world sipping experience, especially given they’re brewed by a mechanical engineer and certified beer judge.

Opening his doors with over a decade of brewing experience, the engineer now engineering the perfect beer. Macias is combining his love for craft beer with his passion for cycling. In cycling, a rouleur has no limits and can excel in all positions – the brewery encompasses this ideal by bending traditional brewing guidelines and always pushing the limits. Macias knows the rules, but opts to bend them to create satisfyingly unorthodox beers that stand out in the San Diego craft beer community.

“I want to keep people interested — keep them guessing,” Macias said. “We’re using Belgian yeast strains and blending and creating something decidedly different.”

Rouleur Brewing Company is 2,000 square feet in total, accommodating an intimate 500 square-foot tasting room with communal tables that merge locals and travelers of all backgrounds to savor the delicately crafted signature beers. With a love for experimentation, Macias will be using a randall in the tasting room to infuse his beers with various flavors, without having to brew an entire batch. Cycling artwork and both vintage and modern cycling photography adorn the walls, with an entire wall dedicated to bicycle wheels. A focal point of the decor: an extremely limited edition Masi bicycle designed just for Rouleur.

“I’m floored by the positive response and support I’ve already received,” said Macias. “This has been a dream of mine and, now, it’s a reality. I can’t wait to open and share my craft and passion with the San Diego community.”
