NASHVILLE, Tenn. — When Major League Soccer awarded Nashville with a new expansion franchise in December, nobody was surprised. This city’s energy is contagious, and Nashville proved to not only be a soccer city, but one that could provide value beyond the field.
“Nashville SC has planted its roots in Middle Tennessee, and we take great pride in local partnerships,” said Nashville SC CEO Court Jeske. “This creative one with Mill Creek will allow our fans to toast the club’s inaugural year with a Goalden Ale! Nashville SC would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mill Creek for their commitment to professional soccer as we grow together.”
This February, local craft brewery Mill Creek Brewing Co announced its official partnership with Nashville Soccer Club.
“I think soccer is a really important thing for Nashville. It’s a sport that breathes comradery and community,” says Mill Creek founder Chris Going. “We’ve already seen a ton of that from the fans and supporter groups. And as a sport that’s played on a global level, I think soccer has a unique ability to put Nashville under a worldwide spotlight.”
As an official partner, Mill Creek Brewing Co is able to provide value to the team in a way only a brewery can – with beer.
Mill Creek will be brewing the team’s official craft beer, the aptly named Goalden Ale. Nashville SC Goalden Ale enters the pitch at 4.5% ABV, starting crisp and fresh and finishing clean on the palate.
“We decided to brew a golden ale because we wanted to make something light and insanely drinkable, yet still stay true to our craft beer roots,” says Chris Going. “We’re really excited to be partnering with Nashville SC. We’re both young organizations with a lot of fire and passion for what we do. And as we were discussing a potential partnership, it became very apparent that we’d work really well together.”
Goalden Ale will be available at all home games, with its initial release at Nashville SC’s home opener at Nissan Stadium on March 24th.
Goalden Ale will be available in draft, 16 oz. cans, and 12 oz. cans. Expect to see this beer around Nashville at bars and restaurants, including members of Nashville SC’s Pub Program.
Goalden Ale will also be available to purchase in six-packs at Nashville area Kroger stores.
