Left Hand Brewing has signed a new distribution agreement with Wirtz Beverage for coverage throughout Nevada. An official launch is planned for August 28, the distributor announced in a statement today.
“We are excited to partner with Wirtz Beverage to fulfill a longtime goal of giving beer lovers throughout Nevada the opportunity to enjoy our handcrafted brews,” said Jason Ingram, Left Hand’s national sales director, in a press statement. “It’s been amazing to see the growth of craft beer in Nevada, from a craft desert to a beer-lover’s oasis.”
Left Hand, based in Longmont, Colo., is in the midst of a busy year. It has already entered seven new states in 2014 — having launched earlier in five New England states and in southern California — and sold a portion of the company back to employees in July.
With the addition of Nevada, Left Hand’s beers, including its popular Milk Stout Nitro, will be available in 35 states and Washington, D.C.
A company spokesperson said it is currently in talks with distributors in other markets, but did not specify which new states the company might be eyeing and when those launches might happen.
Last month, Left Hand, founded in 1993, established an employee stock ownership program, repurchasing common shares from stakeholders and entrusting more than half the company to its employees. The company grew production 13 percent to more than 74,000 barrel in 2014.
