Chicago — Hoping to bring its award-winning beers to even more customers, Kulshan Brewing Company has added cans to its packaging mix. Two of its brews – Bastard Kat IPA and Full 90 Session Ale are available now in Rexam 12 oz. cans.
Brewed with passion and precision, Bastard Kat is an American Style West Coast IPA with a full hop flavor and aroma predicated upon the citrus notes of the Cascade Hop. Full 90 Session Ale features crisp, herbal, light citrus German Perle hops balanced with Vienna malt providing a soft bready character to this light ale.
To keep up with demand for its beers, Kulshan recently expanded its operations opening a second brewery location that is twice the size of its original brew house. It features a large taproom and a brand-new canning line, which made it possible for Kulshan to expand into cans.
“We are extremely proud of our new location and the fact that it gives us the ability to offer some of our great-tasting beers in cans,” said David Vitt, owner, Kulshan Brewing Company. “Working with Rexam we have the perfect package that will allow our customers to take our brews with them camping, hiking or wherever they go.”
Kulshan chose cans because of the many inherent benefits they deliver. They are durable and portable, often permitted at parks, lakes and other outdoor locations where glass is not. Aluminum cans block out all light and oxygen helping to preserve the beer’s taste and freshness longer. Cans are light-weight, which can reduce shipping costs. They are also the most sustainable beverage package in the world recycled at double the rate of any other package option.
Joanna Novak, vice president of sales and marketing, Rexam BCNA, commented on Kulshan’s packaging choice. “We are pleased to add Kulshan to the growing list of brewery’s that are recognizing the can’s superiority,” she said. “Our cans will allow the brewery to expand its reach. And the outstanding value this package delivers will help Kulshan continue to build its brand throughout the Northwest and beyond.”
Kulshan Brewing Company’s beers in Rexam cans are available at select retailers in Washington.
