SALISBURY, Md. — John has experienced continuous success since joining our company as a chef in 2000 at the first Southern Boys Concept’s restaurant, The Red Roost. In 2011, he moved to lead the brewery team during our initial expansion and was named Manager of Production Planning and Purchasing at Evolution. In the last 17 years, Scheckells has continued to go above and beyond as a true leader in our family and an asset in our company, making this transition an easy decision.
“My role in the brewery has been to meet and surpass the needs of our customers,” said John Scheckells. “Similarly, I will now be overseeing the restaurant as well, to ensure that both are constantly exceeding expectations. Whether drinking an EVO bottle at home, or with dinner in our restaurant, I look forward to making sure that every aspect of your experience including service, atmosphere and quality, is bar-none.”
With continued involvement in all of our companies, Scheckells is always lending his knowledge, a hand and leadership to ensure our staffs and customers have a positive experience whether with our products or within our restaurants.
Although both the brewery and public house restaurant are on the same property, each entity is unique and comes with their own roles and responsibilities. Scheckells’ extensive experience in the restaurant and service industry allows this transition to be smooth and effective.
“Tom and I are excited for this well-deserved promotion and are looking forward to John’s continued contributions and success leading the operations within the brewery and Public House,” said John Knorr, Owner Southern Boy’s Concepts.
