BROOKLYN – As Coney Island’s Luna Park is gearing up to open its gates for the summer, Coney Island Brewing Company is also preparing a full summer lineup for fans by launching new styles and packages.
In a nod to the Coney Island’s innovation brewery located at MCU Park on Coney Island, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball team, the brand is proud to introduce Home Plate Pale Ale. The newest player in Coney Island’s lineup, Home Plate Pale Ale is a straw-colored, medium-bodied, moderately hopped ale balanced by a citrus and fruit hop aroma and a clean bitterness. It will also be included alongside Mermaid Pilsner, Coney Island Lager and Hard Root Beer in the new Coney Island Summer Variety Pack. Home Plate 6-packs, draft and the new Summer Variety Pack will be available starting March 28th throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.
The Summer Variety Pack isn’t the only new variety pack coming from Coney this spring. Following a successful launch last July and becoming the number one new craft beer brand in 2015 according to IRI, Coney Hard Root Beer will become part of the new Concession Stand craft hard soda variety pack. This variety pack includes four bottles each of Hard Root Beer, Hard Ginger Ale and Orange Cream Ale, and will be available in select markets nationwide. Coney Island’s craft hard sodas are made with real cane sugar and natural flavorings, such as Madagascar vanilla and west African ginger.
And finally, as can sales continue to gain share of the craft beer market and become more and more popular, Mermaid Pilsner, ranked the top-selling pilsner in Metro New York, will be available in 16oz cans starting April 1.
