FERNDALE, Mich. – Earlier this month, Detroit area’s Axle Brewing Co. announced the upcoming release of their newest craft beer, entitled ‘Very Stable Genius’ inspired by a strange tweet from our from our President. After igniting considerable excitement from local media and drinkers, the brewery is excited to tap the 8.5% ABV Imperial Wheat starting this Thursday, January 25t h at Livernois Tap, their Ferndale taproom. Says founder Dan Riley: “VSG is powerful, yet delicate and even fragile, consistent with its inspiration.”
In conjunction with the VSG beer launch, Axle Brewing Co. is investing in the local media community by aligning with neighborhood partners to benefit Ferndale Radio (100.7 FM) and fund the design of their new studio space in the Rust Belt Market.

The radio station began broadcasting from the Rust Belt last November and the group of local artisans Axle has engaged will enable them to enhance their physical space and provide operating funds. Partner contributors include: Patrick Thompson Design, to provide design direction; Long White Beard who will assist in construction; and a donation of reclaimed wood from Live Edge Detroit.

Rust Belt Market’s Revel Bar will tap VSG on January 26th with all proceeds benefiting the new Ferndale Radio space. Additionally, $1 from each pint sold at Axle’s Livernois Tap will benefit the cause. The team has already started planning the new studio and construction will start in February. Launch date and grand opening party of the Ferndale Radio’s Studio will be announced as construction progresses.
