FERNDALE Mich. — Following up from their successful barrel launch of Wolf Tone, Axle Brewing Co’s LBP (Livernois Barrel Project) is back this summer with a new addition. Forward Observer is a 10.8% Double Oatmeal Stout aged in bourbon barrels. The beer is a nod to Axle’s head brewer, Adam Beretta and his personal journey from infantryman to craftsman.
Forward Observer pours out a dark brown color that borders on black with a caramel brown head. The aroma and flavor is a combination of roasted malts, fig, caramel, vanilla and slight sherry with subtle notes of oak and chocolate. This is a full-bodied ale complex ale that is ready to drink now.
“We were blown away by the enthusiasm from the craft beer community for our first Livernois Barrel Project release earlier this year and can’t wait hear what people think of our second effort. We named this one as a tribute to our brewer Adam’s personal journey and for everyone striving for something special on the horizon.” said Axle Founder and President, Dan Riley.
Forward Observer will be tapping this Saturday, July 14th at 2pm with a very limited number of 500ML bottles available. Sales will be limited to a maximum of 1 twelve bottle case per customer while supplies last.
Keep up with Axle Brewing Co.
