The third installment of Brewbound’s Learning Curve documentary series, which profiles winners of the bi-annual Startup Brewery Challenge, is now viewable online.
Shot on location in Chicago and Portland, Oregon, this latest episode of Learning Curve follows the founders of Hopewell Brewing on their journey to Beervana and showcases some of the lessons they learned while meeting and brewing with members of the Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) team.
Hopewell Brewing is a small, self-distributed craft beer company based in Chicago. Winners of Startup Brewery Challenge 6, Hopewell, along with three other winners of the pitch competition – Braxton Brewing, Wynwood Brewing and Border X Brewing – will be profiled in a feature-length documentary to be released in June.
In this episode, Hopewell founders Stephen Bossu, Samantha Lee and Jonathan Fritz, along with the company’s first brand rep, Jake Guidry, take an extensive tour of Widmer Brothers’ production brewery, participate in the daily CBA taste panel and receive business coaching from CBA executives.
Additional episodes of Learning Curve featuring Braxton Brewing and Wynwood Brewing can be found on the Brewbound YouTube Channel.
The Brewbound Startup Brewery Challenge, sponsored by Craft Brew Alliance and held bi-annually during the Brewbound Session business conference, gives new beer company owners a chance to pitch their brands and sample one core beer to a panel of expert judges. Brewery owners have four minutes to deliver their pitch, and are given three minutes to answer judges’ questions.
