Richmond, VA — Hardywood Park Craft Brewery is set to release the second beer in the Brewer & Artist Series this weekend. This series pairs a Hardywood brewer with a local artist of their choosing. Together they collaborate on the concept behind the beer style and the art that will be displayed on the bottle. “We thought this would be a great opportunity to showcase some of the local talent in the Richmond arts scene and, at the same time, highlight some of our brewers as artists in their own right and offer some insight into the inspiration behind some of their creations” said Patrick Murtaugh, Co-Founder and Master Brewer at Hardywood. The beer, Hardywood Evelyn, is a session IPA. It will be a limited, brewery only release.
“Bright and sunny. Two words that come to my mind when I think of my four year old daughter Evelyn. These same two words rang through my ears when presented with the chance to provide you with my artistic output. Hardywood Evelyn Session IPA has been built specially for hot days and beautiful sunshine. Bright as I could make her, and singing with tropical juicy fruit notes, Evelyn pours across the palate dry and crisp allowing you to keep going all day. Weighing in at 4.9% and begging you to keep playing, I proudly present to you Evelyn Session IPA. Drink deep, friends!”
-Kevin Storm, Hardywood Brewer
The label art is created by Mike Baker, a self taught artist in Richmond, VA. His work ranges from traditional tattoo flash to macabre and painterly ink wash portraits. See more on instagram @mikerbake.
