Boston, MA: Boston Beer Co. officially launched their newest brew, Infinium, on December 8. The beer, a collaboration between Samuel Adams and Weihenstephan, has spent two years in the making and is now on sale. Brewbound was on hand to sample the final product (which is slightly different than that which was sampled in our August review of Infinium) and hear Jim Koch's thoughts about the beer and the process. Admittedly, said Koch, champagne is nice, but beer is better and he believed it was possible to combine the best elements of both into a new and unique beer style. The result of his work with the world's oldest brewery, Weihenstephan in Germany, is a beer with a crisp, clean taste, but still full of malt flavor.
