Overview
New England's Craft Cider Downeast Cider House was founded by Ross Brockman and Tyler Mosher during their senior year of college. Through their travels abroad, they took notice of the large presence of hard cider in bars, restaurants, and liquor stores. Upon evaluating the disappointing landscape of hard cider in the United States, Ross and Tyler have made it their goal to build New England's first and largest craft hard cider company, and restore hard cider to its rightful place in American culture.
Our cider is made from freshly pressed New England apples because we believe in making the best product we possibly can, while also supporting local agriculture. We use Red Delicious, McIntosh, Cortland, and Gala apples in our cider. The Original Blend, currently packaged in kegs and cans, is distributed through Pine State Trading Company (Northern Maine), Nappi Distributors.(Portland and Southern Maine), L. Knife & Sons (South Shore Mass), Seaboard Products (North Shore Mass), Union (New York City), and Craft Brewers Guild (Mass minus north and south shores, RI, NH, and CT).
Ryan Burk has joined Feel Goods Company, parent company of Good Beer Hunting, as co-founder following his departure from Boston Beer last month. At Feel Goods, a marketing and innovation studio focusing on beverages, Burk will work alongside co-founder Michael Kiser to create programming for new clients and work on brand development for existing ones.
Two Roads Brewing Co. is getting into the non-alcoholic beer space with Non-Alcoholic Juicy IPA, the first NA beer offering from the Stratford, Connecticut craft brewery.
Continuing its exploration of the craft alcoholic beverage sector, Alltech, a global biotech nutrition company, is investing $13 million in the construction of a new 27,972 sq. ft.brewery and distillery in downtown Pikeville, Ky. Having broken ground on the project earlier this summer, the company expects Dueling Barrels Brewing & Distilling Co. to be open in 2016.
