Firestone Walker Co-Founder Shares Insights at Brewbound Live 2018

On Day Two of the 2018 Brewbound Live business conference, held in Santa Monica, California, on November 28, 2018, Firestone Walker co-founder David Walker discussed the evolving craft landscape, brand building and changing consumer preferences.

During the conversation, moderated by Brewbound editor Chris Furnari, Walker talked about the breakout success of Firestone’s 805 brand, industry headwinds and the potential impact of recreational cannabis on alcohol sales.

David Walker relocated to the West Coast in 1991, and opened the Firestone Walker brewery in Los Olivos, California, with his brother-in-law Adam Firestone in 1996. The company relocated to Paso Robles in 2001, and combined with Duvel Moortgat USA in 2015. It is now part of a group that ranks fifth on the Brewers Association’s list of top craft breweries.
