Job Title: Head Brewer – Craft Brewery & Beverage Innovation
Location: Appalachian Mountain Brewery
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Head Brewer to lead our brewing and beverage production team. This role will be central to the production of our diverse product portfolio, including craft beers, ciders, sodas, and THC-infused beverages. The Head Brewer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing a team of brewers, ensuring quality control, and driving innovation across all product lines. Key Responsibilities:
Product Development and Innovation
- Drive the creation of new and innovative recipes for beer, cider, soda, and THC-infused beverages.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to identify trends and customer preferences, translating these insights into new product offerings.
- Experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and styles to enhance our portfolio and push boundaries in craft brewing.
Production and Quality Management
- Oversee all aspects of production, from brewing to packaging, ensuring adherence to quality, consistency, and safety standards.
- Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Ensure that all products comply with industry regulations, including specific requirements for THC-infused beverages.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and mentor a team of brewers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Train staff on brewing, fermentation, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate with other departments and co-packers to optimize production efficiency.
Inventory and Resource Management
- Oversee raw material sourcing and inventory, ensuring consistent supply for production.
- Monitor costs and manage resources to optimize product quality and production efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement to source unique ingredients aligned with product development goals.
Operational Efficiency and Facility Management
- Manage production schedules, monitor workflow, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure that the brewery and production facilities adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Work with facility and equipment vendors as needed to maintain and upgrade brewery equipment.
Strategic Input and Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Contribute to the overall business strategy with insights from production and market trends.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and distribution teams to support product launches, promotions, and brand growth.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of brewing experience, including 2+ years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven experience in brewing a range of products (beer, cider, non-alcoholic beverages), with knowledge of THC-infused beverage production as a plus.
- Strong understanding of brewing science, quality control, and production best practices.
- Demonstrated creativity in recipe development and a track record of innovative product launches.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team.
