MASSACHUSETTS TERRITORY MANAGER

We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive Territory Manager who thrives in an autonomous role. You will take ownership of driving sales growth and managing distributor performance across the state, using your experience in the craft beer industry to build and strengthen our presence in the market. Success in this role requires a candidate with a robust knowledge of the beer distribution network, a background working in or with beverage wholesalers, and a proven record in sales.

This is a salaried position with a significant bonus component, rewarding high performance and success as measured against lofty sales volume goals. The schedule is flexible, predominantly conducting work Monday through Friday during business hours, with occasional night and weekend work, as needed. The role is largely on the road and in the field, allowing you to independently manage your time and territory for maximum impact.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

Sales Execution & Growth

  • Drive Brand Growth: Increase buy-in, positioning, and reorders across MA by actively representing the brand in both new and established markets, with the goal of significantly expanding business over the next two years.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, including identifying new business opportunities, opening new distribution points, and boosting sales velocity in existing accounts.
  • Build Key Relationships: Cultivate strong connections with retail decision-makers and buyers across on- and off-premise accounts, including independent and chain locations.
  • Enhance Brand Visibility: Secure and expand display presence, features, and promotions using all available tools, such as signage, POS materials, samplings, events, staff trainings, and server incentives.
  • Limited Release Management: Coordinate pre-sells and allocate limited-release draft and package placements for on- and off-premise accounts.

Wholesale Partner Activation

  • Collaborate with Wholesalers: Maintain regular communication with wholesaler management on inventory, new products, incentives, marketing needs, and budgets.
  • Field Support: Engage with field teams through work-withs and in-person support, and lead presentations to distributor sales teams to align objectives and strategies.

Data Analysis & Market Monitoring

  • Sales Analysis: Use data tools to monitor performance metrics, identify growth opportunities, and align efforts with business goals.
  • Market Insights: Conduct product quality checks, monitor freshness, and assess market conditions, providing feedback on pricing, placements, and brand perception.

Field Marketing

  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute consumer events, including tap takeovers, promotions, samplings, and collaborations, while maintaining a sales and marketing event calendar.
  • Brewery Visitation: Arrange and host brewery tours for VIP guests, coordinating with internal teams as needed.

Sales Administration & Reporting

  • Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular performance and market trend reports to leadership; track goals, data, market feedback, and relevant territory metrics.
  • Travel Planning: Optimize travel schedules and record mileage, expenses, samples, and POS activities.

Staffing

  • Brand Ambassador Management: Hire and manage a junior brand ambassador for Greater Boston and the North Shore when volume and growth support expansion.
