Wells, ME – Batson River Brewing & Distilling, an independent craft brewery in Maine, proudly introduces their latest creation, Home Fields Pale Ale. This new offering underscores Batson River's commitment to local sourcing and craftsmanship, utilizing ingredients exclusively from local partners such as Blue Ox Malt House, Champlain Valley Hops, and The Hop Yard.
Home Fields Pale Ale is a medium-bodied Pale Ale with a clean finish, boasting an ABV of 5.3%. It showcases a robust hop profile with distinct notes of fresh pine and lemongrass, complemented by a crisp malt character reminiscent of fresh bread.
Jon Quade, Operations Director, emphasized the significance of supporting local communities: "This special recipe celebrates the exceptional quality of ingredients right here in our backyard. Home Fields Pale Ale not only represents our roots but also demonstrates the mutual benefits when local partners collaborate."
Available in both draft and 4-pack formats, Home Fields Pale Ale can be enjoyed at all four Batson River locations and is distributed throughout southern Maine by Nappi Distributors in Gorham, ME.
About Batson River Brewing & Distilling
An independent Maine brewery founded in 2018. Our beers capture Maine’s southern coast, where the Batson River winds from the farm to marshlands to the shore. Everything we craft pays tribute to this incredible community and connects us to the great state we call home. We currently operate four brewpub restaurants in Portland, Wells, Kennebunk, and Biddeford.
About Blue Ox Malthouse
Launched in 2013 by homebrewer and community organizer-turned-maltster Joel Alex, Blue Ox Malthouse is Maine's first malting operation. Blue Ox Malthouse seeks to push the possibilities of craft beer and spirits, and support Maine agriculture by connecting these two groups through world class quality Maine-made malt.
About Champlain Valley Hops
Champlain Valley Hops is the largest hop farm in New England. They grow and process premium hops for craft brewers nationwide. Nestled in Vermont’s Champlain Valley, our land was once home to a working dairy farm. We believe that it is our responsibility to farm in a way that nurtures our hops, the people who grow them, the beer lovers that enjoy them, and the landscape that gives them life.
About The HopYard
Established in 2011, our primary acreage is grown on 7th generation family farmland in Gorham, Maine. We grow hops with a passion for their dynamic range of flavors and aroma, and focus on the potential for Maine’s soil and climate to accentuate these points of sensory. An onsite processing facility help ensures freshness, and the ability to adjust local harvest plans to accommodate the hops as required.
