Summary 


The Technical sales person is responsible for company revenue goals through development and execution of the sales plan.




Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Generate company revenue;
  • Up to 50% travel within region and broader US;
  • Acquire, develop, and retain customer accounts in assigned territory;
  • Engage in new client acquisition through cold calls (in person, phone, email);
  • Make sales calls to clients in assigned territory by visiting brewhouse facilities, brewpubs, and tasting rooms;
  • Convert prospects to customers in a highly competitive market;
  • Identify/convert targeted accounts;
  • Create and strengthen relationships with prospects, customers, suppliers, competitors, and industry influencers;
  • Communicate with CSR’s and technical service to provide a seamless customer experience;
  • Professionally represent the Imperial Yeast brand;
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align on sales goals, expectations, and strategies;
  • Develop/plan/report on rolling 6 month sales plan with goals, quarterly updates, and directional adjustments;
  • Presents monthly sales plan, hurdles, and budget updates to executive leadership;
  • Audits  and reacts accordingly to monthly performance metrics;
  • Develop/plan/report customer retention programs;
  • Identifies industry trends and customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts, Communicates this information With marketing and leadership;
  • Evaluates/plans/schedules sales programs/events;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required Skills & Abilities 


  • Track record of exceeding sales quotas;
  • Knowledge of craft beer market;
  • Previous experience working on an incentive-based compensation plan;
  • Passion for beer;
  • Proficient with G Suite and/or other related software (Microsoft Office, CRM). 


Education & Experience


  • 3 yr. brewing industry experience;
  • 3-5 years previous experience in an outside sales or in a business development role;
  • Progressive record of professional growth and sales excellence required.



Work Environment



Primary Work Environment


Imperial Yeast production areas and sales call locations are manufacturing facilities; employees will be working in a warehouse environment where it can be hot, cold, wet and/or noisy for extended time periods in the presence of high voltage machinery, hot water, compressed gasses and steam.  Events and sales calls may require extended periods of standing.
