The General Manager of the 1911 Cider House and Distillery is a critical role for our canned beverage production facility and distillery. This position is ultimately responsible for all operations, ensuring the seamless and efficient production of our high-quality beverages. As the cornerstone of our manufacturing team, the General Manager will lead and inspire a dedicated workforce, drive continuous improvement, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. A strategic vision and hands-on leadership will be key to optimizing production processes, meeting ambitious production goals, and maintaining our reputation for excellence in the industry.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of directors, operations managers, facility maintenance managers and production managers, team leads, operators, and staff with significant experience and tenure in the industry.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee production schedule and be accountable for weekly/monthly output goals.
  • Oversee the products we make under contract for various companies across the hard cider, cannabis, and functional beverage industries.
  • Day to day management of manufacturing team members including weekly payroll approval, training, and performance evaluation tasks.
  • Take a methodical approach to our manufacturing processes prioritizing (in order) safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
  • Learn processes of each functional area to serve as a resource for your team.
  • Monitor finished good & raw material inventory and develop production plans.
  • Forecast staffing, material, and resource needs based on industry growth projections.
  • Monitor scrap, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly production reports.
  • Set production priorities, throughput goals, and working standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure accurate/timely completion of production compliance documentation.
  • Ensure ERP system data is accurate and entered daily.
  • Manage contract partner relationships in your functional areas.
  • Oversee capital expenditures budget as we invest in new equipment to help our facility grow.
  • Assist with new product launch, development, and evaluation.
  • Work closely with other departments, including R&D, Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Provide growth, development support, and appropriate challenges for your team.
  • Ensure that all products meet or exceed company quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in engineering, business, or finance.
  • 5+ years in a direct management position, of both salary and hourly employees.
  • 3+ year’s experience with Lean or Six-Sigma methodologies.
  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing (food/beverage preferred.)
  • 1+ years of experience with new product launch/development.
  • 3+ years of experience with regulatory compliance (SQF, ISO, HACCP, OSHA, GMP, etc.)
  • Proven career progression with positions of increased responsibility.
  • Experience making effective, data-based decisions.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to learn autonomously, challenge yourself, and be resourceful.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willing to spend 40% of your time on the manufacturing floor working with your team.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Available to work standard business hours with occasional weekends (if needed.)

Preferred Qualifications:

· LSS Green Belt certification.

· 3+ years working in a supply chain function.

· Knowledge of THC/CBD/hemp industry and products.

· Experience with ERP systems (Acumatica, SAP, Oracle.)

· Experience with MS Project, Visio, Asana, or Monday.com.

· Technical aptitude or abilities.

Equipment, Machines, and Software Used:

This position requires the regular use of a computer, software, and manufacturing equipment.

Physical Exertion:

Light work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Environmental Conditions:

Inside Work: With exposure to temperature changes (e.g., unheated or uncooled warehouse).

Travel:

This position requires minimal travel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
