Lead Brewer

Toms River Brewing is a growing craft brewery located along the Jersey Shore. An award-winning brewery that focuses on producing quality products with the best ingredients. We run a 25bbl Alpha brew house and a 5bbl Blichmann brew house, fermenter and brite tanks ranging from 10bbl-50bbl. We love what we brew and take pride in what we do.

Assistant Brewer Responsibilities

• Production of wort as instructed by Lead Brewer/Management
• Maintaining proper and accurate brew house and cellar records
• Keen attention organizational details throughout the facility
• CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels; brew house, FVs, BTs, Brinks etc.
• Wort and beer transferring operations
• Yeast harvest, pitching and viability management
• Fermentation monitoring
• Keen attention to detail to sanitary and record-keeping standards
• Basic facilities maintenance
• Strictly adhere to all production and safety SOPs.
• Wear proper PPE

Desired Qualifications for Candidate

• At least 2 years of proven brewing experience in a production/packaging brewery (references will be required)
• Proven track record of success in prior positions. 

Successful candidates will also possess:

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in an orderly fashion
• Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail
• Able to assist with tasks outside key responsibilities
• Effectively communicate with team

Must be able to:

• Lift 55 lbs regularly and move 165 lbs (on occasion)
• Stay on their feet for 8-10 hours per day
• Operate a forklift and heavy machinery
• Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Handling of hazardous materials; cleaning chemicals
