WOODBURY, N.J. – On March 7th & 8th, female staff of Eight & Sand Beer Co. brewed a new beer For International Women’s Day. Nevertheless She Brewsisted, to be released on March 30, 2018, features a YCH HOPs blend exclusive to this project in collaboration with the Greater Philadelphia Regional Chapter of Pink Boots Society. 10bbls of this hoppy kettle sour was brewed with Buddha hand fruit to compliment the citrus and herbal notes of the hop blend. Nevertheless She Brewsisted will be available for pours and growler fills out of the Woodbury-based tasting room.
Eight & Sand Beer Co. has six female staff members who all participated in this event, including Tasting Room Supervisor and Pink Boots member, Kristen Wilson. “Being connected to the Greater Philadelphia Regional chapter of Pink Boots has made me feel empowered to learn more about the behind-the-scenes process. I’m very grateful to have supportive owners who believe in the mission of inspiring and encouraging their female staff to learn more and get as involved as they feel comfortable. Brewing for International Women’s Day was emotional for me, as it tied my two favorite subjects together – feminism and craft beer.”
A portion of funds raised from sales of the beer will go to Pink Boots Society, a nonprofit providing educational opportunities to women beer professionals to help them advance their careers in the brewing industry.
