GRANADA, SPAIN – When it comes to taste, one should take a moment to slow down to truly appreciate what’s in front of them. That is the philosophy behind Cervezas Alhambra, a premium Spanish brand, which is widening its range of high intensity beers in the U.S. Today, the company announced the launch of Alhambra Reserva Roja — a complex yet smooth and silky bock style beer — with distribution in Washington D.C., Northern Virginia and New York City.
“We are thrilled to bring Alhambra Reserva Roja to beer drinkers along the East Coast,” said International Country Manager, Niall Gerard Brennan. “Full of flavor and with a unique style, it will challenge what one expects from Spanish beer and that is precisely why we’ve added it to our lineup in the U.S.”
Alhambra Reserva Roja is an artfully crafted bock beer with an ABV of 7.2%. Made to be savored and sipped on slowly, this beer’s distinctive personality is defined by time – time to experiment, time to compare, time to taste – all of which is inspired by the craftsmanship of its production process and its selection of high-quality ingredients.
The new Alhambra Reserva Roja is complex. It offers a much smoother and silkier flavor profile than one would expect from a bock style beer – it’s full of delicate notes and infinite nuances. Upon first sip, the beer’s intense flavor immediately bursts through. This is further reinforced on sip two, as sweet and toasted cereal flavors are uncovered, along with a touch of ripe white fruit and a bitter counterpoint of the hops, all enveloped in an elegant note of alcohol that helps add to the intensity.
In order to give Alhambra Reserva Roja its precise aroma and bitterness, nugget hops are added by hand to control quantity and timing. Spring barley is also incorporated to give the beer its unique texture. With a perfect balance of intensity from the toasted barley malt and with the subtlety of oats, Alhambra Reserva Roja is a Spanish reinterpretation of traditional Central European beers. It has a unique reddish, copper color that is typical of this region. The beer’s complex and multi-faceted nature gives it a gastronomic value that makes it ideal for pairing, and perfect for mixing flavors and textures.
Alhambra Reserva Roja joins the current roster of beers by Cervezas Alhambra in the United States, which includes the iconic Spanish lager, Alhambra Reserva 1925, and Alhambra Especial, its bright and flavorful alternative.
Reserva Roja is now available on draft in New York, Washington DC and in North Virginia bars and restaurants, as well as by the bottle in many grocery stores. For more information, visit www.cervezasalhambra.com or follow Cervezas Alhambra on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
