Richmond, VA — Buskey Cider opened April 2016 in Richmond’s popular craft beverage neighborhood of Scott’s Addition, and will be celebrating their birthday the weekend of April 22nd in their taproom.
Buskey will release three new ciders throughout the weekend: the a boozy Wildflower Honey Cyser, Buskey’s Hoppy Birthday Cider, and the Stayman in Business Cider.
The boozy Brazilian Wildflower Honey Cyser was a collaboration with neighbor Black Heath Meadery and comes out to just under 14% ABV because of the natural sweetness of the honey. It was fermented using Buskey’s house yeast strain and gives a good balance of honey and apple. On Saturday Buskey will release their Hoppy Birthday Cider, featuring a delightful blend of azacca and mosaic hops. Cidermaker, Alec Steinmetz, was a gold medal brewer before joining the team and masterminded this cider that is one of the hoppiest yet best balanced hopped ciders you’ve ever tried. Finally, on Sunday the Stayman apple single varietal cider “Stayman in Business” Cider will be released after 5 months of barrel aging and much anticipation. The Stayman in Business Cider has an aroma of vanilla and oak and a nice tannic finish. Each day of the weekend, more than 10 ciders will be available. As an added bonus, local business Lush Cupcakes will be selling cupcakes made with Buskey’s RVA Cider in order to celebrate the day at the cidery.
“We’ve had an amazing first year at Buskey Cider and how better to celebrate than by releasing three of our boldest ciders yet over a weekend long celebration! We’ve made so many new friends this year and can’t wait to share these ciders with them as well as with people who have never visited before. A full weekend birthday with daily releases spread out the fun and keep lines to a minimum. It’s going to be a blast!” says founder and CEO, Will Correll.
The celebration will run Friday, April 21st through Sunday, April 23rd. Buskey Cider is located at 2910 W. Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23222.
