Overview
Orpheus Brewing is an intownAtlanta brewery that opened in May 2014. We produce and sell new craft beer targeted at the premium end of the Southeastern U.S. craft beer market.
Our Inspiration: The Greek hero Orpheus compelled the dead to feel, he tamed the three headed hellhound Kerberos, and persuaded the god Hades to release his deceased wife Eurydice to journey with him back to the world of the living. In agreeing to Eurydice’s release, however, Hades required that Orpheus look forward and trust that Eurydice followed as they returned to life. Approaching the light, Orpheus could not avert his eyes from his love any longer and looked back only to see Eurydice vanish, lost to him forever.
Orpheus Brewing will close its taproom and production facility in Atlanta on April 23, but the brand will live on as it transitions into beverage platform Bevana’s portfolio, Orpheus founder and brewmaster Jason Pellett shared Sunday on Twitter.
Long-time Anheuser-Busch InBev marketing executive Andy Goeler will retire at the end of the year after a 43-year career with the world’s largest beer maker. Plus, leadership changes at Pabst, FIFCO USA, Orpheus and the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.
Orpheus Brewing’s Jason Pellett announced Thursday that he will step down as CEO of the Atlanta, Georgia-based brewery to focus on his role as brewmaster.
