Overview
Located in the beautiful rural Skagit Valley in Northwest Washington, Garden Path Fermentation makes hyperlocal beer, mead, cider, and wine only using ingredients sourced from our own backyard. We exclusively use Skagit-grown grain, fruit and honey, Pacific Northwest hops, and ferment all of our products in oak with 100% native Skagit yeast. Our process draws on old-world brewing and winemaking techniques from a variety of traditions, which we reinterpret and adapt to take maximum advantage of the Skagit Valley’s abundant resources and temperate climate.
Garden Path Fermentation announces the release of their newest beer, The Subtle Blend Cherries, a native yeast ale refermented on multiple varietals of Skagit Valley cherries harvested from the Washington State University research orchards in Mount Vernon, and bottle conditioned with local fireweed honey.
Garden Path Fermentation announces the release of their newest edition of Ron’s Not Bitter, a native yeast fermentation take on a classic UK-style bitter.
Garden Path Fermentation announces the release of a new fruited variant in their spontaneous series: The Spontaneous Ferment: Raspberries, a coolship-inoculated ale refermented with raspberries sustainably grown by Silva Family Farms, keg and bottle-conditioned with local fireweed honey, and aged for five months in bottles and kegs before release.
Garden Path Fermentation announces the release of their newest beer, The Fruitful Barrel Tayberries, a native yeast ale refermented with Skagit Valley tayberries sourced from Lenning Farms in Mount Vernon, bottle and keg conditioned with local blackberry honey, and aged for ten months in bottles and kegs prior to release.
Garden Path Fermentation announces the release of their newest beer, The Gentle Hint of Smoke, a Lichtenhainer-inspired native yeast ale brewed with maple-smoked barley and native Garryana oak-smoked barley and conditioned with local blackberry honey.
Garden Path Fermentation announces the release of The Untended Bloom, a barrel-aged saison, and The Dry Table Boysenberry Mead, an effervescent dry mead fermented with Skagit County grown boysenberries.
For two decades, Ron Extract helped others in the beer business execute their visions. As an early member of the Jester King team, he helped shape the Austin, Texas-based farmhouse brewery into an award winning craft-beer darling synonymous with wild ales and spontaneous fermentation.
