Local Craft Brewery The story for Common Crown Brewing Co. starts with two twin brothers, a garage, and a passion to create home brewed beer. Initially creating home brewed beer for the desire to drink exactly the beer they wanted, a dream grew in what would be the foundation of the brewery, to provide local, high quality craft beer for the everyday Albertan beer consumer. This led the brothers, and a third partner, to explore their dream and open a micro brewery in Calgary. The recipes were crafted and harnessed by the brothers for over a year in their garage to ensure they would bring the public the highest quality product possible. The focus will be on three different kinds of ales to bring to the Alberta marketplace, a Blonde ale, an IPA, and an English-style Brown ale. Each beer is named for the common theme of the brewery, skilled, and hardworking craftsman that provide quality products to a community. The Brewmaster Blonde ale is named for a craftsman that creates a masterpiece of taste, body, and aroma. The Journeyman IPA reflects the dedication of an individual in constant pursuit of perfection. And finally, the Coppersmith Brown ale reflects the proud and practical nature of getting through a hard day’s work with a sense of accomplishment. A major component of the brewery is to help support local industries, and thus, are sourcing as many of the ingredients from Alberta as possible to ensure a local product. Building the local community around great tasting beer is at the very groundwork of our brewery. Showcasing local agriculture, music, art, and the craft beer scene is a main pillar for Common Crown’s vision and will proudly strive to create and assist any events in Alberta.
