Santa Fe Brewing Company’s new Krones 70-barrel brewhouse is now brewing beer. On Monday October 6, they brewed their first production batch on the new system of their flagship 7K IPA.
Santa Fe Brewing Company’s focus on its home state of New Mexico and a smaller distribution footprint paid off in 2018. The 31-year-old craft brewery’s sales grew 47 percent in its home state last year — and 37 percent across its eight-state territory — according to vice president of sales and marketing Jarrett Babincsak.

Santa Fe Brewing Company (SFBC), New Mexico’s Original Craft Brewery, is breaking ground this week on a project that includes a new three-story beer hall, an expansive beer garden to include a host of outdoor games, a kid’s area, community fire pit and landscaping watered by their on-site water treatment facility, and an underground barrel aging tasting room.
After pulling distribution from two states last year, Santa Fe Brewing Company is re-focusing its efforts on growing sales in its home state of New Mexico and seven other core markets. Santa Fe director of sales and marketing Jarrett Babincsak told Brewbound that the company decided to dig deeper in its eight-state footprint due to the increasingly more difficult challenge of selling beer away from a home territory.
Santa Fe Brewing Company (SFBC), “New Mexico’s Original Craft Brewery,” posted record growth in 2017 and is poised to continue that momentum into 2018 and beyond. While SFBC’s business grew across it eight state distribution area, New Mexico led the way, growing by 28% in total and paced by 31% growth of its’ flagship brew, and the #1 selling craft beer in New Mexico as measured by IRI scan data, Happy Camper IPA.
Even as growth in the craft category slows, a number of craft outfits are continuing to pour money into costly expansion projects. Just this week, a trio of regional breweries announced plans to expand with facility upgrades and new taproom locations.
Santa Fe Brewing Company (SFBC) is excited to announce that they have transitioned all of their everyday beers to cans, discontinuing all 12 oz. bottle packages effective immediately.
Another great homegrown-hopped beer is coming to Santa Fe Brewing Company (SFBC), and once again, we couldn’t be more excited to support local! Amalia hops, one of the two hop varieties, native to New Mexico, was recently harvested from Santa Fe Brewing Company’s hop farm and found it’s way into Santa Fe’s favorite Nut Brown Ale. Soon, it will be available to the state’s supporters of the local craft beer scene and all things grown locally.
New Mexico’s own homegrown beer is here! Neomexicanus-1 or Neo-1, one of the two native New Mexican hop varieties from Santa Fe Brewing Company’s hop farm was recently harvested and dry-hopped into a beer. Soon, New Mexico will be getting a taste of something truly local.

After a long search, the very talented brewer, Noah Tuttle, was welcomed aboard on February 1st. Noah has worked in the craft beer industry for the past 7 years.

Most recently known as Sol, SFBC plans to breathe new life into the venue, resurrecting a once vibrant space for locals to gather for great live music. “We are really excited to take over the space. Santa Fe needs more solid music venues, where locals can go and catch great live bands. We want to bring back the energy of the big acts like the days of old,” owner, Brian Lock, said.
