Three Colorado breweries — Renegade Brewing, Good River Beer and Rocky Mountain Sector — have merged to create the Brewer’s Co-Hop, a new business venture that will share a production facility and back-of-house resources in Denver.
As the craft landscape has become increasingly competitive and as growth has slowed, some craft brewers are beginning to alter their approaches to expansion. While some companies have restructured their sales and marketing teams and laid off employees, others are starting to reexamine their brick-and-mortar strategies. Take the divergent paths of Other Half Brewing Company in Brooklyn and Renegade Brewing Company in Denver, for example.
Denver’s Renegade Brewing today announced the sale of an undisclosed stake to Silver Fox Partners, a Northeastern family office founded earlier this year by Anne Mulcahy, the former CEO and Chairwoman of the Xerox Corporation. Specific financial terms of the deal, which was finalized last Wednesday, were not disclosed.
To raise funds for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, Shmaltz Brewing Company joins 8th Wonder Brewery (Houston, TX), Renegade Brewing (Denver, CO), and Terrapin Beer (Athens, GA) for three exceptional versions of Reunion Ale 2017®. The official release of Reunion Ale 2017® takes place next week at Great American Beer Festival (Denver, CO: Oct. 5 – 7).
Breweries from all around the world will be attending the Great American Beer Festival to compete for medals in a variety of beer style categories. Another competition that will take place at GABF is Hop the Vote, a friendly but spirited brewing competition that highlights the relationship between Colorado craft brewers and state lawmakers.
The collaboration between Fort Collins Brewery (FCB) and Renegade Brewing Company came about through a happenstance friendship. Two brew gals, two breweries, and a conversation over beer sparked a friendship that became a shared brew for Collaboration Fest. “Friendship, camaraderie, and community are values that Laura and I personally hold close and are also reflected in our breweries,” said Katie Nierling, FCB National Sales Manager.
