Overview
We brew what we like, drink what we want, and offer the rest to those who share our tastes. Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Jester King is an authentic farmhouse brewery committed to making artisan ales of great depth and character. Like the small, farmhouse breweries that inspired us, we seek to embrace nature and local terroir in our brewing, giving our beers a true sense of place. We draw water from our well at the brewery to make our beer and at times call upon naturally occurring yeast from the Texas Hill Country to shape our unique flavors. We use as many organic ingredients as possible with the majority of our beer being USDA Certified Organic. We do not rush beer to market, but instead allow it to mature naturally – often in oak barrels – prior to re-fermentation in the bottle, cask, or keg.

As of press time, 1,789 breweries had embraced the seal, agreeing to display it across packaging and marketing materials, on websites, and in taproom windows, among other places.

The fallout from Wicked Weed’s sale to Anheuser-Busch InBev is still being felt days after the transaction was announced. In the wake of the deal — which will require approval from the U.S. Department of Justice — at least 44 breweries announced they would no longer participate in Wicked Weed’s annual Funkatorium Invitational in Asheville on July 8.

It’s been a newsworthy couple of weeks for Austin, Texas-based Jester King Brewery. The company last week announced that it would take an ownership stake in Fair Isle Brewing, a yet-to-be-opened Seattle brewery. That news was followed by word that Jester King’s head brewer Garrett Crowell — whose last day was Wednesday — would depart to open his own brewery. And earlier this week, the company promoted brewery production manager Averie Swanson to head brewer.
