Irvine, Calif. – Yard House will celebrate 20 years as America’s destination for great food and craft beer by tapping 3 Degrees of Celebration, a Triple IPA brewed in a trifecta partnership with San Diego’s Green Flash Brewing Co. and Alpine Beer Company. The limited-release beer will be tapped at all locations on December 7th.
“I love this time of year when we release our Anniversary Beer,” said Gregory Howard, director of Beverage Strategy for Yard House. “This particular commemorative brew is a wonderful collaboration with Green Flash and Alpine Beer Company, and gives our guests an opportunity to enjoy a quality beer that was crafted by Yard House team members.”
Touted as “three cheers to 20 years,” 3 Degrees of Celebration is an epic brew that consists of three pounds of dry hops per barrel and is a delicate balance of fruity, resinous hop flavors with a sweet malt base. Its golden apricot hue reflects its intense floral and fruity aroma.
Every year Yard House collaborates with a different brewer to create a special Anniversary Beer as part of its Chalkboard Series, which features seasonal and small batch beers that rotate frequently. This year Howard and his team traveled to San Diego to meet with the brewers of Green Flash Brewing Co. and Alpine Beer Company. Together the team of beer experts created a signature and memorable IPA.
“We were honored and excited when Yard House chose to partner with us to brew a special beer to celebrate their 20th anniversary,” says Erik Jensen, brewmaster of Green Flash Brewing Co. “Yard House has always been a champion for craft brewers, and the team there shares our core values – putting an emphasis on quality and flavor above all. This beer is a salute to not only Yard House, but to our tight-knit beer community.”
3 Degrees of Celebration pairs nicely with just about anything on Yard House’s menu, but is especially complementary to some of the offerings available on the restaurant’s holiday menu, especially the grilled 16oz Rib Eye.
Yard House opened its very first location along the waterfront in Long Beach, California, on December 7, 1996, and was the only restaurant to boast 250 tap handles. As Yard House expanded across the country it helped fuel the craft beer movement by introducing emerging brewers, such as Alpine Beer Company, founded in 1999, and Green Flash Brewing Company, founded in 2002. Each Yard House location averages 130-180 taps with a focus on local and regional beers.
Yard House will tap 3 Degrees of Celebration on its 20th Anniversary—Wednesday, December 7—nationwide. The special limited beer is part of the restaurant’s Chalkboard Series, which highlights seasonal beers and small-batch selections – it’s expected to last through mid-January.
Yard House is open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining and is known for its great food, classic rock, and more than 100 tap handles of beer. For more information, visit yardhouse.com or follow Yard House on Facebook at facebook.com/yardhouse or on Twitter @yardhouse
About Yard House
When Yard House opened in 1996 in Long Beach, California, it revolutionized the restaurant industry by creating a 250-tap draft beer system. Its lofty design, warm wood accents, and industrial vibe with the use of steel and chrome, made it a dining destination from the start.
Twenty years and 65 restaurants later, Yard House still leads the way with great food, classic rock and a vast selection of draft beer while evolving into an award-winning dining destination known for its menu of American favorites, crafted cocktails and endless fleet of tap handles featuring the best American craft beer and imports. The exhibition kitchen creates more than 100 items made from scratch daily with quality ingredients and globally inspired flavors. The menu reads like a road trip across America and guests can select from an array of items, including grilled burgers, gourmet salads, street tacos, steaks, seafood and house favorites.
Each Yard House has its own distinct beer list with a handful of taps reserved for local and regional brewers along with an offering of seasonal and small-batch selections as part of the rotating “Chalkboard Series.” The glass-enclosed keg room showcases hundreds of steel barrels containing as much as 4,000 gallons of beer that flow to the center-island bar through an extensive network of tubing positioned overhead. From there the beer is fed to the taps where it’s served ice-cold by the pint, 9-ounce shorty, goblet or half-yard glass container. Yard House is also well-known for its classic rock boasting a library of 10,000 songs with each location having its own distinct playlist. Yard House is open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining.
