Last month, San Diego’s Novo Brazil Brewing was named the winner of Startup Brewery Challenge 9, held during the Brewbound Session conference in Santa Monica, California.
But the business pitch competition – which gives entrepreneurs four minutes to showcase their brands for a chance to win $5,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Portland, Oregon – also featured four other emerging brands.
Novo Brazil CEO and master brewer Eduardo Pentagna — who pitched his company’s country-of-origin story, a product that uses Brazilian ingredients and a brand identity featuring vibrant colors – was able to beat out the other four competitors who took the Brewbound Session stage to show off their own beers and business plans in front of an expert judging panel and hundreds of beer industry professionals.
Those contestants included:
- Ted Fleming, Founder & CEO, Partake Brewing
- Bobby Slattery, Founder, Fifty West Brewing Company
- Craig Kovaleski, Owner, Shotgun Beer
- Chase Brooks, Co-Founder, Prospect Cider Works
Now, Brewbound readers can revisit all five pitches from Startup Brewery Challenge 9.
