Atlanta Brewing, Georgia’s oldest craft brewery, has promoted its brewmaster to the position of president, the company announced today.
Effective immediately, Garett Lockhart, who has been with the company (more commonly known as Red Brick Brewing) for five years, will supplant former president of ten years, Bob Budd. Budd will remain on the company’s board, it said in a statement.
“The team here at Red Brick is the strongest I’ve seen in my time with the company,” said Lockhart in a news release. “Production is staffed by talented, hard-working pros. The sales team is clicking on all cylinders and the supporting roles are contributing to the overall success of the company. As president, I will continue to keep everyone focused on quality and consistency.”
Founded in 1993, Red Brick is on pace to produce 12,000 barrels this year, up from 9,000 in 2014. The company sells its beer in seven states throughout the southeast.
