Dover, DE — Dominion’s Spring seasonal, Cherry Blossom Lager, returns for its 4th year in a row commemorating the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. From March 20th to April 17th, the Cherry Blossom Festival pays tribute to “traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit.” Cherry Blossom Lager was added to the seasonal line-up in 2013 and continues to be a local favorite.
Cherry Blossom is brewed using a classic German lager recipe. Once the lager is filtered, it is sent to the brite tank where it is then aged on red sour cherries and dark sweet cherries for 72 hours before packaging and kegging.
“Cherry Blossom Lager started as a fun, experimental beer,” states Fordham & Dominion CEO Jim Lutz. “The sales manager at Capital Eagle, our Washington D.C. Distributor, hatched the idea of brewing a beer for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. So in year one we went up to Michigan, grabbed some cherries, and made up a small batch of Cherry Lager which was draft only in 2013. It has exceeded our expectations and has now become a cult favorite for local beer drinkers,” says Lutz.
Dominion Cherry Blossom Lager is available in six-packs and on draft.
