San Francisco, CA – Ferment.Drink.Repeat is excited to announce the release of several new beers and a schedule of multiple events as part of SF Beer Week, Feb. 10-19. Open since June, this is the brewery’s first year participating in the Bay Area’s annual celebration of craft beer.

Starting with the Opening Gala at Pier 48 Feb. 10, the Portola Neighborhood’s first craft brewery will feature three new releases in its lineup:

You’re Such a Tea(se) Hibiscus Saison, 6.7% ABV, 28 IBU – The brewery’s “Iron Brewer Competition” winner, where 36 homebrew teams were forced to brew with an assigned, secret ingredient. The winner, brewed by Luis Castro, David Jacoby, and Gordon Mauger of the DOZE Homebrew Club, was scaled up at FDR and features a Saison dosed with a Warming Crimson Berry Tea blend and Hibiscus that provide beautiful color and aroma and flavor notes of lemon, cranberry, and of course, hibiscus.

New Skool Pale Ale, 5.5% ABV, 30 IBU – A modern take on the classic American Pale Ale style that put craft beer on the map. Lower bitterness, slightly cloudy, and aromas and flavors of tropical and stone fruits, make for an easy-drinking, hop-forward showcase.

Hella Wicked Double IPA, 8.5% ABV, 86 IBU – FDR’s first DIPA, this brew is a hybrid of two current regional takes on the style, combining the Hella bitterness levels and clarity found in West Coast IPAs with the mouthfeel and Wicked tropical fruit notes found in today’s IPAs from New England.

During the week, FDR will also host three events at the brewery:

Feb. 11, 1:00pm-2:30pm – Beer Appreciation 101, led by Head Brewer and Nationally ranked beer judge Kevin Inglin, the class will cover the ingredients that make beer “beer”, highlight style differences from various brewing cultures around the world, and feature eight beer samples to facilitate the discussion that will help consumers understand why they like certain styles and not others. Tickets are $20 and available at www.fermentdrinkrepeat.com. The tap room then opens at 3:00pm where Sugarfoot will “Pop-Up” featuring their delicious southern comfort food.

Feb. 14, 3:00pm-10:00pm – F*ck Valentine’s Day, LOVE Beer! A respite from the cliché holiday norms of chocolates, flowers, and candlelit dinners, this event will feature the release of two new beers – The Queen’s Heir, our English Brown Porter aged on bourbon-infused oak, and The Queen’s Spare, our English Brown Porter infused with raspberries – as well as a special on our flight of four “Dark Beers for Dark Hearts.”

Feb. 18, 12:30pm-6:30pm – Beers Off the Beaten Path … Progressive Tasting in the “Ing-Xcels-Ola.” FDR beers will be featured at four different venues in Ingleside, the Excelsior, and the Portola. Starting with an FDR beer-infused cocktail at The Ave Bar on Ocean Avenue, patrons will then walk to Ocean Ale House, before taking our free shuttle to The Dark Horse Inn where they’ll enjoy foods paired with FDR beers at each location. They’ll then again board our free shuttle to FDR to enjoy a dessert and beer pairing. The free shuttle begins running from Ocean Ale House at 2:30pm. This is a “pay as you go” event.

“We’re excited to invite people to our outer neighborhoods of the city,” said Kevin Inglin, Owner and Head Brewer at Ferment.Drink.Repeat, “and we’re confident that if people are willing to get ‘off the beaten path’ they’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of great craft beers available at all of these outstanding venues.”

Ferment.Drink.Repeat will also be pouring beers at the “Sirwisa Am-Pro Hops for Housing” (Feb. 16, 6:00pm-9:30pm at Standard Deviant Brewing) an event to support Family House. For this unique “Am-Pro” event, we brewed at local Homebrewer Tom Pellack’s house to create delicious versions of The Queen’s Heir and The Queen’s Spare. Enjoy beers brewed by 16 different “Am-Pro” teams, each featuring a professional brewer from the Bay Area, while supporting a great charity. The event will feature live music, and food will be available for purchase from Southpaw BBQ. Tickets are $40 and available on Eventbrite.

The brewery will have 10-14 beers on tap throughout SF Beer Week, including all beers mentioned above. Patrons are welcome to bring in their own food to the tap room, which is child and pet friendly.
