Estacada, Ore. — Award winning Fearless Brewing Company, located in Estacada, Oregon, has hired Rich Masella as the new head brewer. Masella has been brewing beer professionally for many years, spanning from Harpoon Brewery in Vermont to Ninkasi Brewing Company in Eugene, Oregon.
“We are very excited that Rich joined us,” said Ken Johnson, owner of Fearless Brewing Company. “He brings a wealth of brewing knowledge and professional experience that we find very valuable. We are already seeing positive results from having him on our team.”
Masella welcomes the opportunity as well. “I was interested in joining a brewery that was growing and had potential-a place where I could make a mark,” said Masella. “At Fearless I saw dedication to quality and growth and an opportunity to experiment and be creative.”
Case in point, Masella and Johnson have two, brand new IPAs going into production: Freya, which showcases Mosaic hops, and Eureka!, named for the Eureka hop variety.
Fearless Brewing Company is entering its fourteenth year of business. Fearless beers are currently distributed in Oregon, Washington, Illinois and Canada. In 2015 Johnson invested in a new, state of the art brew house that made it possible to triple production.
“The new brew house has given us the ability to greatly increase production.” said Johnson. “With Rich on board we plan to expand distribution to other areas around the United States. Plus, we have room to experiment with new beer styles.”
Fearless Beers include award winning Fearless Scottish Ale (Gold medal at the 2016 Best In Craft Beer Awards), Fearless Strong Scotch Ale, Fearless Mjolnir IPA and Thor’s Hammer IPA, Clackamas Cream Ale, Fearless Porter,, Fearless Peaches n’ Cream Ale (top selling beer at the Oregon Brewers Festival) and Loki Red Ale (named 2013 Top Ten by Willamette Week Magazine).
