Chicago, IL — The only thing better than fall in Chicago are fall craft beers in Chicago. Located in the heart of the city’s Brewery Corridor, Dovetail Brewery (1800 W. Belle Plaine, Chicago; 773-683-1414), has released a fall seasonal beer, the Rauchweizen. A smoked wheat beer, the Rauchweizen goes perfectly with the changing weather.
Smoked beer is an old German beer style with origins dating back to the 1500’s, with the heart of current production being in the town of Bamberg in the region of Franconia. It’s typically a dark color but with smokiness so robust, so assertive, that it nearly recreates the taste of spiced, smoked meat.
Serious beer lovers are encouraged to enjoy this wonderful seasonal specialty beer during the next few weeks.
Dovetail has soft pretzels made fresh daily but if you want a more filling meal, the taproom is BYOF (Bring your own food) or step outside the taproom and grab food from one of Chicago’s finest food trucks!
