CHATHAM, N.Y. — Chatham Brewing, Columbia County’s first and finest brewery in New York’s upper Hudson Valley, has released its seasonal porter, Spike Devil. This porter is now available in cans and draft throughout the greater Hudson Valley and Capital Region areas through the holiday season.
Spike Devil, the first beer ever released by Chatham Brewing, was the recipient of the bronze medal at TapNY and a bronze at the 2014 Tastings World Beer Championships. This brew features an abundance of chocolate malt creating a rich, smooth body with roasted flavors highlighted by cascade hops giving way to notes of dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, and hints of coffee.
This award-winning dark American porter is steeped in the rich railroad history of Chatham and showcases the brewery’s passion for craft and tradition.
“We know the cold weather can be rough, but if there’s one thing that makes it bearable; it’s a great porter,” said Tom Crowell, owner of Chatham Brewing. “This is one of those beers we spend all year looking forward to.”
Spike Devil Porter has a 6.0 percent ABV, 40 IBU, and is available at the brewery and at locations proudly serving Chatham Brewing products.
