About The Cavalry Brewing Company
The Cavalry Brewing Company was started in January of 2010 by Mike McCreary in Oxford Connecticut. This entrepreneurial startup was the result of the recession that hit the US in late 2008 and McCreary was forced to redirect his efforts and create an opportunity. After training in the United Kingdom the Cavalry Brewing Company became a reality in the Hurley Farms industrial park in Oxford, Connecticut. The focus of the brewery is to manufacture English style ales that are a balance between the barley and the hops. Great care is given to ensuring that the barley and hops are from England and the water is treated to mirror the midlands of England to ensure that the ales are true to form. The ales that are produced year round are Hatch Plug Ale (4.5% ABV and 28 IBU’s) and Marauder IPA (5% ABV and 35 IBU’s. The seasonal ales are Dog Soldier Golden Ale (4.0 % ABV and 28 IBU’s), Article 15 Ale (Nut brown ale 4.5 % ABV and 30 IBU’s), Big Wally Porter (4.8 % ABV and 40 IBU’s) and Nomad Dry Irish Stout (4.5 % ABV and 50 IBU’s).
The Cavalry Brewing Company is a Veteran owned and operated company and is committed to supporting the Veteran community. The first four beers produced were named after close friends that were deployed with McCreary in Baghdad in early 2003.
