Covington, Kentucky — Braxton Brewing Company will be expanding its distribution footprint within the state of Kentucky. Beginning on June 6th, the Covington, Kentucky-based company will launch can and draft beer distribution to Louisville in partnership with River City Distributing. In line with their origin, the company will host an Official Launch Party at Garage Bar on Market St. in NuLu on June 9th.

“It’s an incredible feeling to finally be sending beer to the Louisville area! While we’re a Kentucky brewery, we aren’t truly apart of the Kentucky brewing community until we have distribution in Louisville.” Said Jake Rouse, Braxton Brewing Company Co-Founder and CEO. “We’re also thrilled to welcome Jason Lyvers to the team as our Louisville Sales Manager. As a Louisville native, he will be a great addition to the team. We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with River City and some amazing locations to make this ‘Drive’ a reality!”

Braxton Drive celebrates the company’s path to expanding distribution while paying homage to where the story began, in the garage on Braxton Drive in Union, Kentucky. To kickoff the Louisville market, Braxton Brewing Company is hosting a series of launch parties with the Braxton Drive theme.

The brewery will be sending their core styles — Storm Golden Cream Ale, Crank Shaft IPA, Twisted Bit Dortmunder Lager, and Dead Blow Tropical Stout — to Louisville along with beers from their Garage Series and Heritage Series.

“Opening a new market is incredibly exciting,” said Evan Rouse, Braxton Brewing Company Co-Founder & Head Brewer. “I love having the opportunity to share our beer with as many people as possible, and Louisville allows us to do just that. It is definitely going to be a heck of a launch week — and we have some great events lined up for all of you.”

Braxton Brewing Company was born in a garage on Braxton Drive in Union, Kentucky. Head Brewer Evan Rouse tinkered, innovated, created, and brewed in that garage. Now, that creativity and passion continues in our Garage Series of beers.

“The Garage Series brings to life the best in beer innovation, not just from Evan and Richard but from the entire Braxton team,” said Greg Rouse, Co-Founder & COO. “Variety, quality and passion are the key ingredients that we put into every beer that we brew, and we are thrilled to be able to share our efforts with the city of Louisville.”

The Heritage Series will introduce special releases into the Louisville market. These beers are inspired by the region’s history and heritage. Most recently, the brewery released Kentucky Home, a mint julep style ale that was aged in Bourbon barrels.

Braxton Brewing Company opened in March of 2015. Prior to opening their doors on West 7th Street in Covington, Kentucky, the brewing company executed a record-setting Kickstarter Campaign raising over $70,000.

Since opening, the success has continued. The brewery won Brewbound’s Startup Brewery Challenge and collaborated with Widmer Brothers in Portland, Oregon. Locally, Braxton has won 10 medals at Alltech’s Commonwealth Cup including a 2015 Gold Medal with Crank Shaft IPA — one of two beers available in cans. At the Derby City Brewfest, the brewing company won Best Barrel-Aged Beer and Best of Show with their Bourbon Barrel-Aged Strong Scotch Ale, Lumber.

“Nobody, including ourselves, would have believed we would expand our backyard to Louisville this quickly,” said Richard Dubé, Braxton Brewing Company Co-Founder & Brewmaster. “It is a vibrant, craft beer-forward city that appreciates well-designed beers. We can’t wait to bring all we have to offer.”
