Patchogue, NY — EGC Group’s Craft Beverage Division is excited to be working with Blue Point Brewing Company on the branding of their newest charity brew, Drink The Bay Clean India Pale Lager – a beer that will support Save The Great South Bay’s clean water efforts. EGC was brought on to develop the branding and merchandise for the charity brew.
“It’s philanthropy by design,” said Jim McCune, Executive Director, Craft Beverage Division, EGC Group. “Blue Point Brewing Company has been a great client for 20 years. We all live, work, and play on Long Island. We’re surrounded by water. This project was a natural fit.”
EGC Group was able to establish strategic partnerships for Drink the Bay Clean which included joining forces with Reid Carleton, founder and head designer of the popular Carleton Clothing to help design the brand art.
“The Great South Bay has always been a big part of my life,” said Carleton. “I’m proud to have been the lead designer for what will surely be a huge movement.”
Additionally, EGC client, Hopsteiner generously donated Calypso hops for the new charity lager.
Proceeds from Drink The Bay Clean will go towards supporting Save The Great South Bay’s Creek Defender Program, which works to establish a human “defender” to be put in place in every South Shore community and on its 31 creeks.
The charity beer has the perfect flavor blend to kick off summer on Long Island. With floral notes, Drink The Bay Clean has the quick bite of an IPA but is as refreshing as a lager.

Blue Point Brewing Company will be hosting a Drink The Bay Clean India Pale Lager launch party on June 10, 2017 at their brewery in Patchogue. The event, in conjunction with World Environment Day, is open to the public and is sure to draw a large crowd:
• 10am – 12pm: Clean-up at Bradley Beach in Blue Point, NY. Join the BPBC Brew Crew and volunteers for a beach clean-up and receive a special, limited–edition Drink the Bay Clean gift!
• 12pm – 4pm: World Environmental Day Celebration at Blue Point Brewery in Patchogue, NY. Come meet the awesome people doing the awesome work to protect our environment (and have some delicious beers while you’re at it).
• 4pm – 8pm: Official Drink The Bay Clean IPL Release Party at Blue Point Brewery in Patchogue, NY. We need your help to drink the bay clean! Hang out, crack open a can, and enjoy the unique ska–funk–hip hop fusion from “Nonstop To Cairo.”
Drink The Bay Clean will be exclusively available locally this month at the brewery’s tasting room and other fine locations that carry Blue Point Brewing, but is planned to be distributed nationally by next summer.
